A Q&A session with Sandeep Maheshwari in Kolkata. This post is very special for me because I am from Kolkata. I am sharing what I have learned from this post of Sandeep Sahib in this post so that you can easily memorize his teachings in a short time.So let's begin.
Asana Lesson 1: Success is but a shadow of love
Where there is success there is love. Where there is no love there is no success. You will not find a single person who is very successful, but does not love his work.
Pick up anyone, be it a cricketer, a singer, or a businessman, you will find in each of them immense love for their work, which is why they have achieved so much success in life.
But the mistake we used to make is that we don't run after love but run after greed, name, fame or money. Due to which we get into negative emotions like greed and anxiety.
And when we do something with these negative emotions, that work never reaches millions of hearts. As a result, we are not successful. We all have to understand very well that this name, fame and money are all temporary.
The difference between famous and infamous is only 1 minute. All these are external things. We have to stop chasing these temporary things and focus on the permanent things within us - like love.
If your love for a work is pure, there is no greed in it. Then it is constant. And if you really love what you do, you will find success chasing you. You don't have to run after him.
Asana Lesson 2: Think of Socrates' triple filter test
If you can put all your strength, all your brain effort into a task, can anyone stop you from succeeding in that task? But unfortunately we are not able to do that.
Why?
Because thousands of things are always going on in our mind. Now some of them are useful and some are not.
So what is the right way to slow down the flow of thoughts, so that only the right things enter our mind?
The key to doing this is - the Socrates Triple Filter Test. Every time you hear something, before it enters your brain, you have to do a filtering test on it.
The first is the filter - is it true? True means completely true. If it sounds suspicious, it isn't. Because the truth is the truth, there is no room for doubt.
Now the second filter - is it good?
Good means whether positive emotions are being generated or negative emotions are being generated by it. And the third filter is - is it useful?
I mean, would I benefit from thinking about it anyway?
Or, would it just be harmful and useless? If it passes through one of these three filters, you must let it into your head.
But, if it can't pass any of these filter tests, you should stop wasting your mental energy immediately. Why pay attention to such a useless thing that is neither true, nor good and useless?
Asana Lesson 3: You Can Never Change Others
Unless someone tries to change themselves, you cannot change them. You can only change yourself. You only have control over your own actions, you cannot control the actions of others.
So in such a situation, if you don't like someone's actions, behavior or words, you should try to change your reaction without trying to change the person.
Now, how to do this?
Just keep your expectations aside. Admit that you have never done anything wrong in your life, but don't expect the same from others.
Others can do whatever they want. You can't help it because you have nothing to do here.
So what can you do?
You can change your reaction to that thing. For example - you have a friend who calls you various ugly names. You can't change it now, but you can certainly change your reaction if you want to.
If you can do that, the whole situation will change for you. It is easy!
