God I can't deal with it anymore. I'm always just worried and sad about the past or worried and worried about the future and all that". Have you ever faced this kind of infamous situation? Why does your mind wander from one thought to another, whether about the past, why did this happen? why me? Why did I do that? Or what about the future? Every now and then many monks or spiritual people often refer to our mind as the "monkey mind". Just like a monkey jumps from one branch of a tree to another, our mind keeps catching one thought after another. It's almost the nature of the human mind but there's a problem with this mechanism, we can't live in the moment, we can't live in the present. Whether we are always harboring guilt, shame or other negative feelings from the past or we are always anxious and worried about the future. We are not able to live in the comfort of the present.
Apparently there are many theories and methods for this matter but today in this video I want to highlight some important theories from many great people and offer some practical tips for living in the present moment. First, there is no past and no future. It's all in your mind because in reality there is always a moment, but our distorted memory or imagination disrupts our well-being in the present. Whenever we are in the past, it means that something happened to us or we did something that we cannot forget. So the only solution is to forgive, let it go and learn from it. If something has happened to you or someone has done something to you, forgive that person. Let go of the incident or for that matter some material things. If it brings back memories, just Reframe the environment with a burst of positivity. Take your time, stay at your pace but let go of old hurt and forgive yourself if you've done something wrong and most importantly learn and grow from that situation or failure and come out of it. Now that we're in our future, it means we're exaggerating something, whether it's fear of failure or some happy, joyful feeling. Both exaggerations are confusing for us. So to get rid of it we have to realize that it's an exaggeration and it's going to be barely 1%. First recognize this fact and plan accordingly. But always keep this clear in your mind. The future is unpredictable. We can do our best to plan and anticipate the future and most importantly, we can take the best action today. Second, the most effective way to live in the present moment is to be grateful. Gratitude is the greatest happiness medicine you can create in any movement. Be grateful for whatever you have, micro or macro, by thanking Allah or a higher power you believe in. Third, if your mind is constantly confused with many thoughts, share it with someone, talk. Clear your mind to bring peace and tranquility to those close to you and to the present moment. And fourth, daily meditation practice is essential to the practice of the other three skills. To meditate more deeply on these three skills, some deep breathing exercises are the ultimate way to stay in the present moment. So in a nutshell, here are four practical ways to live in the present moment: 1) Forgive, let go of the past and learn from mistakes and don't overestimate the future, good or bad.
Plan accordingly but embrace the uncertainty and impermanence of life. 2) Start being grateful. Feel and act with gratitude. 3) Build your honest community. Share and speak your heart out. 4)
Practice meditation daily. So here are some practical ways you can live in peace and be in the present moment in your daily life. I hope you find this video useful. If you like it please share it with your friends and support them. Thanks for watching! More wisdom, more solutions, better life!
